Hello, 2021!

It’s a new year, so I believe it is time to bring back an old friend… My Blog!

It’s been so long since I posted my last travel article and I’ve been on so many grand adventures since that I think it is high time I take the thoughts from my notebooks and give you guys some insight on my life as a traveler, photographer, and storyteller!

First things first, I would like to re-introduce myself because so much has changed since 2018!

Hi, I’m Katey! I’ve been a photographer for nearly 10 years now. I started photography as a child when my parents gave me a Kodak Easyshare for my birthday. From there, I began my work learning all there was to know about photography. Imagine a 12 year old Katey shooting senior portraits for students who were years older than her! It was fantastic!

Through the years I have racked up photography awards, some of my favorites being the Congressional Art Competition Winner in both 2014 and 2015 as well as being a Scholastic Art Awards SIlver Medalist! My love of photography has also taken me across the globe to places like London, Prague, Krakow, and Venice. 13 countries total and 29 of 50 states!

Although my heart lies with photography, I am also an avid digital media artist! From graphics to videography, I can (and have) done it all. I’m always learning new things about my trade and love creating content! Most recently, I was a part of a group of Scholars who documented the Clark County Wetlands in Las Vegas, Nevada and turned that into an educational documentary! If you are ever in Vegas, stop by and check it out!

In my free time, I walk, run, and kayak my way across the world taking beautiful photos and learning as much as I can about the different cultures who call it home. To some, travel is a simple break from their reality, to me traveling is an opportunity to become closer with the world and the people who inhabit it.

Let’s explore sometime and take amazing photos!
